Tigers come up just short

Seacliff Premier League Women ended a decade long drought to make the grand final.  Unfortunately, the girls met the might of Port who proved too strong on the day.   Trailing 1-0 at half time, the girls came out after half time and equalised through Katie Pisani and looked to have momentum.  Unfortunately for us, and to the credit of Port, they steadied and scored 2 more goals to take the premiership.

Well done to coach Matt Morton in his first season, who along with taking this team to a grand final, was also named coach of the year.

The future looks bright for this group of players if they stick together and continue to work hard.

End of Season Wrap: Females

Wow!  What a year it was for the lady Tigers! 3 out of 4 teams in the finals, 2 red pennants, although unfortunately the blue ones were elusive!

Metro 4 Women

The Mighty Metro 4 women took all before them in the finals series.  Having finished 4th at the end of the minor round, they took on the challenge of beating the top 4… which they did successfully.  After winning the elimination and preliminary finals, the girls came up against SPOC, unfortunately going down in the Grand Final!

Metro 2 Women

The Metro 2 women had a tough year with many players coming and going throughout the year.  They battled valiantly, taking it up to all other teams, however a lack of goalscoring made results hard to come by, eventually finishing in 9th position.

Metro 1 Women

The Metro 1 women had a strong year under the guidance of first time coach Michael Wells.

Club Day 1: The Preseason Cup

Surely by February 25, you would must be missing hockey.  You may well have had the pleasure of the Indian Premier League, but if you haven’t you can now have the pleasure of the Hockey SA Premier League Pre-Season competition.  Beginning this week at Port, our Men’s and Women’s Premier League Teams are back at it as they travel to Port.

But on the 25th, it’s our first games back at Tigerland.  Come and see Jogger and new coach Matt Morton put them through the paces.  Then, stay for a barbie, a junior coaching clinic before the M2-M5 men and women come out for a “run” around. We’d love to see everyone come out and support our Premier League Teams, say g’day and have a bite to eat.
