At the 2008 Pacific School Games held in Canberra in November, Al Oliver and Ed Chittleborough we selected in the U16 Australian Schoolboys team, which will tour Hong Kong and Beijing in July 2009. Al, who was captain of the SA team, plays mid field and Ed is the custodian of the goals.

Coaching Forum - Tuesday 27th January
The club is holding a coaching forum on Tuesday 27th January, from 7pm to 10pm, upstairs at the club.
We recognize that this clashes with pre season training, but invite those training to come along after and join in.
The committee is looking to act on a discussion paper prepared by Tim Kloeden, and provide/develop a club philosophy and development pathway for coaching into our future.
All coaches (past, present and future), and interested players and parents are requested to attend and provide valuable input into forming a pathway for Seacliff. Hope to see you there.
Thank you to Tim Kloeden for presenting the committee with his vision, and also to Adrian Tamlin who has worked through and applied for grant money to assist the club financially in moving forward in this area.

Pre Season BBQ - Sunday 25th January, ALL WELCOME!
The club will be holding a Pre Season BBQ on Sunday 25th January, 12 noon at the club. Coaches are expecting all PL and Metro 1 players to attend, or provide sms/phone call to either Tim (after 21st January) or Melody if unable to attend on the day please. Members of the committee will also be available on the day to receive early Registration Forms from those attending, and also any other seniors and juniors who wish to come along on the day to meet and greet for the new year. The pitch should also be open to us on the day, so bring a long your tennis racquet and have a hit as well. Cost for the BBQ will be gold coin, and the bar will also be opened upstairs.
Please email
president@shc.org.au if attending, to assist in catering for the BBQ thank you.

Senior men
Please contact Tim Kloeden (but not for two weeks while away O/S on honeymoon). Tim has been engaged by the club to coach the PL Men’s team again for the 2009 season, and I am sure is looking to repeat our success in 2008. For those players intent on playing at our top level, look forward to some tough training.

Senior Women
Please contact Melody Rowe who is assisting in preparation for the women’s teams. The club is yet to secure a Coach for the PL Women’s team, and thank Melody for stepping up to get things started for us

Tiger Turf Burners
It proved too difficult to get people to a meeting during December, so let’s have a go at January. I have booked to clubrooms at 7.30 pm on Tuesday 13th January.
In an earlier email, Adrian Roach indicated a desire to have each team represented on the committee and I fully support that concept. Therefore, it would be great if you or someone else from the team that you are involved in could join the committee – coaches, parents, players are all welcome. The first meeting will be a bit of a sounding board about possible rule changes, what we would like to see for 2009 and establishing a structure for the committee. I will draw up an agenda – and as many of you know, I believe in following the agenda and finishing the meeting by 9.00 pm.
