We have had some very exciting news today. Annabel Digance Labor Candidate for the Seat of Boothby rang me last night asking me to attend the clubrooms at 10am this morning, to be involved with a major funding announcement from Federal Senator Don Farrel.

Myself and Andy Oliver attended along with Sports Club and Tennis Club reps and the City of Holdfast Mayor Ken Rolland. Senetor Farrel announced a $5 Million Dollar Grant for the Seacliff Sports Club upgrade.

This is a fantastic result, particularly as it is a Budget Item and not dependent on who is elected to government in September.

A huge thanks to Ken Rollond and Annabel Digance for pushing hard for this funding. I am not sure of timings etc but we will keep you all informed as we get information.

We are hoping this funding will provide enough funds to create all 12 Tennis Courts and the Hybrid Hockey Pitch as a minimum – the new clubrooms etc will probably need separate funds.

The announcement should be on ABC news tonight.
